Bob - I must be missing something...Are you aware that this thing has
been out for months and months, and that it's been the topic of endless
discussion on the LUG, and that there have been numerous images posted?

The R-D1 isn't a full 35mm format camera. I reckon that's what the Leica

Digital M will be. So Epson hasn't stolen Leica's thunder.

According to the Review, chances are it uses the 6MP array that's in my
D70.
