I also use the Epson 2200 with ImagePrint which allows things like 'split toned' effects etc. There is also a free B/W driver for the Epson 2200 which only uses the black inks, so with a minimal amount of work, the Epsons do great with B/W ... see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint/ if you want to get an idea about what many people are using for digital B/W printing.
