Vick,
No, the MP had the late single stroke advance, and the vit worked on one
complete stroke.  At least mine did.

I don't think you'd have to go too far to do the comparison.

It would be similar to comparing a Leica M2/M3 to the new MP.
 
- no meter
- double stroke advance
- externally reset frame counter (my M6 had problems with "return to
-2", as does my M5 now)
- no self timer (the new M6/MP look naked in that regard)
- M3 viewfinder - 0.9x mag, and no 35mm frames
- no depth of field notches
- fitted for Leicavit winder
- spool film takeup
