I believe that IF Leica was a company that was quick on it's feet then
they have time to have a digital M, with or without 1:1 sensor, ready
for end of year 2005. It's not as though they have to come up with
something from scratch.

What I'm definitely missing is the "heavy brassing" option and the 
"stonewashed" leatherette :-)

Spass beiseite, I wouldn't mind about Der Konfigurator if this is just a

little side-business that brings some new Hermes clients to Leica. Same
for 
the Barnack prototype hype.

But seen from the point that these are their only "new" Leica things at 
Photokina, while others are coming out with a RD-1 or the new ZI system,

then I doubt that Solms will surprise us with a big step in the near
future.

Their only possible step forward - the Digital M with a 1:1 sensor? In 
2006? Does anyone here on the list believe that?
