Kit, you just have to have a little more land so the neighbors don't
notice. Or, you just need more understanding neighbors who appreciate
the sudden disappearance of the furry pests and don't really want to
know why. :)

That's effective, but we're discouraged from using such weaponry in
residential areas here. It unnerves the neighbors. :)

My answer to cute overpopulated deer is a 100# recurved bow and a state
license. Venison is such a good source of high quality protein that I
wouldn't want any to go to waste. :)

"On the deer problem, go to your favorite barber shop and get bags of
hair
clippings. Spread 'em around the perimeter of your garden. Deer and
other
varmints hate the smell of human hair and they'll stay out."

Kim, Thanks for the great idea...barring a protest from SPEBSQSA I'll
give
it a go. Scarecrows don't work...Thought about blood meal but It's only
good
until it rains...and I am in Washington state...Hair clippings reminds
me of
that priceless line from John Wayne.. about his mop "Hell yes it's
real
hair...but I never said it was mine"
