Congratulations- ayah! another LUGger over-achiever!
Makes me feel lazy... I think I'll go sip a Dalmore until the feeling goes
away! :o)

I remember Boston, being station in the Navy Yards while the USS Essex was
being de-commissioned waaaay back in 1969.
It always seemed a friendly city to sailors ( no 'sailors and dogs keep off
the grass' signs like in Norfolk!) and an exciting place to be. There were a
skillion places of interest to visit, and things to do. I recall visiting a
friend who was attending BU at the time, and a buddy and I rode all over
Boston on the MTA using transfers from train to bus and vice versa; it was a
super way to see the city and pick out places to come back and visit.
I will probably get your book- I have heard so much about the Big Dig and
would like to read a cogent account (Being a LUGger, you are no doubt a very
cogent write/photographer and not given to any polarizing opinions, I am
sure!), and it seemed so out of character for a place like the Boston I
I wonder if they still serve green beer on Saint Paddy's Day!?
