I think the problem is the camera manufacturers marketing depts.
Digital cameras are sold primarily on the megapixel scale. The problem
being a 5 megapixel camera with a smaller sized CCD will not produce
the same results as one with a larger CCD. Its all very confusing to
the consumer because of how the manufacturers are selling them, in my
opinion.
