When you do a communication course , one of the first things you learn is
the effectiviness of transmitting information by various means.
Speech is very poor with a succes rate of maybe 15 percent . Reading is
slightly better.
So in order to decrease the loss of information , procedures have been
developed in critical industries . Like nuclear engineering field the
military and aviation.
One major pointer is that you have to check what parts of your message get
across. The only way to do this is by asking questions and establishing a
dialogue.
Done right someones eloquence has little to do with the final result.
Also in human factors and resource management trainings you would learn that
the inputs of those in a group , who you might consider to be inferior in
judgement or even dead wrong with their interpretation of reality , do
increase the overall performance of a group.
The way language is used might not be very artistic or scholarly but where
survival or succes is needed that is of little importance.
