I do it all the time. I'm a happy user of the "rose" on/off switch. Works perfectly on my M6TTL. What's wrong with setting the shutter dial to off? It can still drain a battery if it's slightly depressed. No problems with battery drain since I got the "rose." If I'm looking through the viewfinder and I don't see the meter lights, my fingers know how to turn the battery cover so I get power. It's really simple and intuitive. And saves on dead batteries. I'm glad I bought one. -- Eric http://canid.com/
