It also ended up jamming and Leica replaced it on the spot for a 288xxxx model, which has no flare and works like a charm. What do you want? A press release from Leica? They're not willing to discuss this issue officially for obvious reasons. Anyway, it's not all 288xxxxx cameras, some early 288xxxx seem to have the older finder. As Leica assumedly has serial numbers that only ascend by date, that would mean 287xxxx would also be the older finder.
