I would agree with you John, but the other big improvement is in the
contrast of the finder.  It is much improved.  If your eyes are getting old
( 40+) and you like to shoot in dim light, then get the upgrade just for
that reason.

The only reason to upgrade the viewfinder is to get rid of the annoying
secondary image flare/white out. If it is not bothering you, then why
bother updating the finder?
