But in terms of black and white, and in terms of the equiv of color neg shooting, handheld, well...Also, I am obviously not into bench-test comparisons, nor am I worrying about micro detail examined with a loupe. What I'm interested in is what the naked eye sees at normal viewing distance in a print or on a computer screen. Also, keep in mind that when I posted the original and the upscaled crop yesterday, I had upscaled the crop to the point where apx 1/3 of the original image was a file about 16% larger than the entire original image. Which tells me that I could get a damn good 13x19 print out of that 1/3 crop without straining at all..... B. I can get that from a digi file at will. I do find that for ultimate quality (ie tripod mounted optimum aperture stuff, not hand held wide open) I get more detail from a 35mm transparency scan (Kodachrome 64 and provia F) 200ASA print films I have tried are inferior to my DSLR. OTOH if I am doing landscapes I use medium format...
