That sounds like my experience with B&H near Christmas. I ordered an
(in-stock) Toyo-View 45CX kit a couple of weeks before Christmas, they
shipped the package right away, and it wasn't until I opened the box
that I found out the lens was backordered.

It took another two weeks of calls (B&H e-mail customer service is
useless apparently) to determine that they had no idea when the lens
would be in-stock, and the general reaction on their end seemed to be
'tough.' Then it took another two weeks to get a shipping label faxed
to me so that I wouldn't have to pay shipping for their screw-up (which
I had to demand).

And to finish off, they tried to refund only the money for the
body/board/film holders, "because that's all I had sent back." Well,
gee, funny that I didn't return a nonexistent lens.

Throughout this process the kit was listed as in-stock, of course. I
wish they didn't have that imported Tri-X cheap, I had promised myself
not to deal with them again.
