Thanks for the complement.

Already tried all of your suggestions. I have 2GB of system RAM and the scratch disk is a completely empty 120GB SATA drive. I've changed the PS dedicated RAM settings from a minimum of 25 percent to 100 percent, and everything in between. PS responds best in this specific instance with the dedicated RAM being set at 50 percent; all the other higher and lower settings result in the dreaded PS "out of memory" message.

While my machine isn't a bleeding edge gaming box, I did build it completely from scratch specifically for Photoshop use; specs are as follows:

- - P4 3GHz processor w/800MHz FSB
- - 2GB PC3200 RAM
- - Two 120GB SATA hard drives; one for the system and apps, and the other to be used as the PS scratch drive
- - 128MB video card
- - WinXP Pro

Again, any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards,

/Mitch
