I've also shot with the M7 and found the AE faultless. My decision was based mainly on the fact that my other M is an M6 classic and on the M7 the shutter dial turns the "wrong way" (it is the right way actually but go tell that to the rest of Leica and Cosina Voigtländer owners). Also consider that the M6 is again slightly taller than even the M6ttl and that the black finish is black chrome over antimonium, the MP is paint over brass. Also consider the respective rewind knobs/cranks. The viewfinder in both is extremely flare resistant but my M6 now has the Konnerman "Shade" so it's rid of flare too.
