I've just returned my original M4 to full-time service with the M6. And
bought a Leicameter MR to use with it. One big advantage is it couples to
the shutter speed dial and is therefore a bit faster and easier to use than
the VC meter. It requires a mercury battery but can be adapted to silver
oxide batteries. If you go this way, buy on condition that you can have the
meter checked out by Sherry Krauter, Don Goldberg or another competent
service person (not sure if Leica is still servicing the MR).
