It's common knowledge to most in the digital world that 1) The Digilux is really a Panasonic Camera with the Red Dot badge. Many chose to think Leica had a hand in designing it. Well maybe Leica did design the boxy exterior and the red badge, but most certainly not the electronics. SonC ((((( Well All that is true, but the posting was not about the Leica, it was about the Panasonic. Though Leica had a hand in approving the lenses, according to both Leica and Panasonic, but it has little to do with the performance of the product.)))) RD> 2) The Digilux has inferior image quality to similar Canon, Nikon, Sony offerings, yet cost more. SonC ((((Not all users will agree with this, and it leaves out the ergonomics and ease of manual operation, and the Panasonic is less expensive . . .)))) RD> I've found most users with no previous experiences with or no knowledge of Leica or no emotional / financial baggage tied to the German company all shunned the Panasonic and its clones like plague. RD> boon hwee SonC (((((So, let us see the statistics on your "most users" what was your sample? How did you determine if they had no emotional / financial baggage, whatever that is? There are several people with lots of connection with Leica here who not only don't shun, but shoot the hell out of the Panasonics and the Leica. Tina, Neil, Geebee, Sonny and I know there are more. Interestingly enough, I rarely print, almost all my stuff is posted on-line, and the majority of my postings since Mardi Gras have been with the LC5. I wonder what your motive for the posting, did you fail to read the one you attempted to answer? It just doesn't gel, seems like you have some kinda agenda.))))))) - -- Regards, Sonny mailto:sonc@sonc.com http://www.sonc.com Natchitoches, LA USA - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
