Subject: Re: [Leica] M to R adapter - is there such a thing?

Well aware of the optical/mechanical realities involved. I'm a fellow who grew up having a good deal of fun putting unorthodox lenses on unexpected bodies - usually in the medium and large format world. Although I do use a Nikon bellows on my R bodies. I also have an adapter which allows me to put my R bodies on my Linhof (or any graflock) back. I did a macro contract project a few years ago with a 35mm Rodenstock on an 8x10 - etc.. These experiments sort of provide the hobby side of the pro experience.

My latest project camera is building a box to take my B&J 4x5 back and marry it to a 9inch f:3.1 Voigtlander which has built in focusing and using it as a funky portrait camera, with a packard shutter and flash synch. See <http://www.imagist.com/project_camera/>

None of this adaptation has anything to do with "normal" it has to do with bringing hardware together in new ways which render new looks to images. It all springs from what-if?
