At least a few of us know that part of the reason you are getting less
in focus with the 75 over a 50 is because the magnification is probably
higher. That and the close focus stop out with the Noctilux.

If you pulled the 75 back behind the Noct so each was re coring the same
amount of the image. At 1.4 the DOF would be the same if they are both
set at 1.4. Then the Noctilux can open up to 1 and get less DOF (depth
of field). Both lenses would be perhaps equal and rendering background
you flew across the ocean to get, unrecognizable mush. And aquarium with
a problem.
