Hi Karen,
You don't need the "steering wheel at all" as many of the RapidWinder users
don't have it attached and the loading - advancing works perfectly fine.

I have them attached to my 3 - M7's and used them with my M6's before they
were replaced. And all with out the "steering wheel!"  So don't fret for a
screw driver or spare parts, it's a no brainer. Just load and shoot away
like normal and don't even think "oh dear  I don't have the little wheelie
thingie in there and it's not going to work!" ;-)

It will and does beautifully at 3 frames a second with a little practice if
you need that kind of rapidwinding action. :-) Otherwise just shoot and
enjoy the RapidWinder action and convenience.
