I may have mentioned i was looking to get a new 60 Nikon macro and i
notice the  MACRO-ELMARIT-R f/2.8/60 mm was selling used for not much more.
OK maybe a couple of hundred more. I was thinking "wait! there's still
time!". I'll get to Leica R in the last act.

My guess is the Nikon 60 will be great and the Leica 60 greater. I'll do
a direct comparison test  when i do get the MACRO-ELMARIT. IN the
meantime this Nikor 60 is one cool lens. Heavy. Long. Heavier than the
85 1.8 by quite a bit.
AF is good with a lens like this because you can stick your arm into a
bush and snap one and pull it out and it had focused perfectly on the
bee that was in there. Oh the built in flash i handy for those shady bushes.
