Subject: [Leica] Unusual finder

Bonjour,

I just purchased a finder and am wondering if any well informed lugger
can shed light on it s original purpose. Looking from the front, it has
a yellowish tint. From the back, one can see the inscription Tele-Wide
finder Japan. Looking through it, one can see 2 bright line frames. One
is marked wide and gives approximately the field of view for a 40 mm
lens, the other is marked tele and cover roughly the field for a 75mm
lens. Any clue anyone? Large format maybe?

  Best and TIA,

  Robert (Un chevalier sans blason)
