It's more economical because, like it or not, having photos in digital form
is critical. In my case, the majority of my published work has been in
digital form. I just completed scanning a large body of work - around 2800
images. With all the problems I had with the bulk slide feeder, the work
took almost 9 months - so much time wasted that could have been used making
more images.

Once you add up your time sitting in front of the film scanner, $10-20k for
new digital gear doesn't sound like alot of money. Digital saves you
time...alot of time. And that's time that can be used shooting or, more
importantly, drumming up new buisiness. Film is beautiful but time
consuming.
