Erik,
I remember several years ago looking at several loupes at a local store.  I
remember looking at the Schnieder 6x, Rodenstock 6x, the Leica 5x loupe and
a few others.  There was no comparison to my eye.  The Leica was visibly
superior to all the others I looked at that day.

If you can swing it, get the Leica 5x.  You'll never regret it.
