Frank,
The 15 is a specialty lens that many people find very difficult to use.  The
12 is an extremely specialized lens that you need to already know what you
want to do with it before you use it.  If you have not used a 20-21 very
much and are somewhat uncomfortable with that coverage, then using a 12 will
be really eye opening.  The world looks really small and far away.  Small
closets look like Imelda Marcos stored her shoes there, the local little
theatre looks like Lincoln Center.  You get the point.

If you want to get your creative juices going, try to rent the 12 for a
week.  See what happens.
