None of this discussion is making sense to me.  As I recall,
the Romans occupied the right bank of the Rhine.  Plus, when
I got into genealogical research in Braunschweig, I find
that many of my ancestors were baptized with Latin names.
(by the way, Braunschweirg is in northern Germany - in the
area where low German was the language).  There was also the
Napoleonic intervention.

I guess the determination is if your counting system is
based upon 20 or 10.  :)
