This represents a 2.6 million Euro decrease as compared to the same period in the prior year, but has to be seen against the background of a pleasant backlog of orders, especially for the Group’s new products such as the LEICA DIGILUX 1 digital camera and the LEICA M7 rangefinder system camera. Achieving a positive operating result of 0.2 million Euro the Group was able to realise the “close to the zero line” result planned for the first quarter. Net income came to –0.3 million Euro, which chiefly reflects financing costs.
