Somebody reported this on another list and it was a problem with only one
carrier.  A borrowed carrier worked fine and when the person bought another
carrier the problem was fixed.

If that doesn't work, you might look at the Nikon LS4000.  I love mine and
it is rated as the closest 35 mm scanner to drum scanning.
