I have just read all the replies and only Tina seemed to offer any hope. I
have the same scanner and work it to death. It sometimes does the same
thing you describe and the solution is to unplug it at the back, turn your
windows machine off, replug the scanner, THEN start your ss4000, THEN boot
your computer. This doesn't work every time but when it does start, I then
leave it turned on. This all started happening to me about six weeks ago
and has happened about three times. Not a very scientific fix, I'm afraid,
but other than a good drop-kick out the back door, I can't think of
anything else.
Let me know if it works.
