Anyone have experience with this scanner? Anything special that a new owner ought to know? (being used with Windows machine)< I'm *very* jealous! Actually, the lowly Coolscan III does a fine job for the small prints I make and as a tool to build some skill, but it's 35mm only - my Rollieflex is sitting idle. One thing I found with my Coolscan is that sharpness across the frame was compromised when using the motorized film strip transporter. Most frames had one side that was quite blurry. When I switched to the FH-2 holder that goes in the slide attachment (it's more like the negative carrier for an enlarger), things improved a whole lot, particularly with Fuji film, which tends to have less curl in my experience. Hope there is better depth-of-field with the new generation of scanners. After you get accustomed to Nikonscan, try Vuescan. That used to be much better, but the Nikon sw has improved. Anxious to see some images from that baby! Carl - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
