Do you remember reading about the Dual Range Summicrons that
would not work on the newer cameras ? The top cover of the
camera is larger and the extra focusing attachment will hit the
camera. The lens you have was originally made to fit the Leica
M3. That camera is different from yours. If you put that lens
on a M3 it would probably work fine. If you have a camera store
nearby that has a used M3, you might take the lens there and try
it.
But even if it will not focus as close on your camera, it
should still take good pictures for you. Make a test. Use a 12
exp. roll of film and take six pictures at a wide aperture
focusing with the rangefinder. Then take six pictures focusing
with the lens scale markings.
