Chris,
On the pole of the Focomat IC there are two holes for an alignment pin.
The bottom hole allows autofocus on the baseboard, the upper pin for the
Leica easel.
By measuring the thickness of your Saunders easel, you should be able to
find your own alignment point and things should be OK.
