I'd been in bright sunshine, with my camera set appropriately. I sat down in some very dark shade to rest, when suddenly, I had company. I guessed exposure, opened my lens wide, slowed my shutter as much as I dared, focused and took two on-the-fly portraits. This is the better of the two. My subject was rather dark-complexioned, so I could have used a stop more exposure. But I think I captured his personality. Sorry about the posterization in the background---it's a combination of scanning artifact that was made worse by my curve adjustments and worse yet by JPEG compression. http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/currentpics/grackle.htm M4-P, 90/2.8 classic Elmarit, Supra 100, 1/60 @ f/2.8. - --Peter Klein Seattle, WA - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
