If the intention were no to roil us up it would be obvious that Leica's niche market hasn't overlapped with the large manufacturers' in a long time. Nor has there been much interest on the part of Leica or its afficionados to be on the cutting edge of technology. Nor do the large manufacturers particularly want to enter this small specialized market. Nor would many of us really care if they tried. Far from being a joke, it's called offering a choice.
