Hi Dennis:

I believe you're right on the temp.   Can't remember how he controlled that!

The chap had a long wooden tank, subdivided into many compartments, made
waterproof with fiberglass, like you'd put on a boat. 

As I recall, he developed the film first (similar to B&W developing) and
then exposed it to light to do the reversal. Then the film ran through
these tanks on a series of reels that were chain driven by a small motor.
Timing differences in the dyes, bleaches etc. for the various layers were
controlled by varying the size of the reel & compartment; and keeping the
motor speed a constant.

Caveat: I may have this process somewhat out of sequence - and somebody
will correct me if I do - but it *was* a long time ago!

Apparently the method is public knowledge, if you know where to look.  It's
the chemicals, in less than industrial lots, that's the trick!

Too much effort for me, too!  I'll simply keep the ol' R's loaded with C-41
and my sweetie will be happy. :)
