Are you placing a baffle above it to shield it from the direct rays of the Stofen? Or what? And do you fire straight ahead or upwards at an angle, when using it with the 24? Many thanks.......Julian - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Dory" <dorysrus@mindspring.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Saturday, March 30, 2002 5:58 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Re: Vivitar (was: Metz 40-Mz on R8) I use the Stofen's very heavily when I use flash. The trick is to have either a ceiling or wall relatively nearby for best results. In a church sanctuary setting it will be softer but that is more to do with the milk plastic than any reflected light. I have also been more consistent with exposures when I shield the 283 sensor with a cut our film can stuck on with florists wax: you use the Stofen with the flash head up somewhat. Oh, by the way, the Stofen will let you use your 24, usually the vignetting adds to the shot much as the Noctilux works most of the time.
