Subject: [Leica] Re: ballhead advice sought

If you do get the G1377M, get the Universal Dovetail Quick Release System
(G1387) which accepts standard Gitzo, Arca, Graf, Kirk, Foba plates.

To continue the discussion, even though I have a B1 and a G1377M, I detest
ball heads. I only use a ball head on my G1228 tripod when I want light
weight and as compact as possible. I never use a ball head on my G1349 tripod.

I normally use pan tilt heads as you can adjust elevation and tilt
independently. I use a Gitzo Rational No.2 or a G1371M 99% of the time.
