Subject: [Leica] 10th Week's PAW (No. 3 for me)
From: ISILVERMN@aol.com
Date: Sun, 10 Mar 2002 16:42:38 EST

My third set of PAW photos is up today. I'm getting closer to being able to
post every week.

Over the past few weeks, comments have been made regarding the presence of
old structures on the East Coast and the lack of them in Southern California.
Being a transplanted New Yorker, I'm in full agreement, but I was still
driven to find the oldest structure available within shouting distance and
built a PAW entry around it.

Hence, this weeks entry consists of pictures taken last weekend at Mission
San Juan Capistrano. I arrived early, an hour before the docent tours began,
and was able to tour the grounds freely and without throngs of tourists (Side
Note: the Swallows arrive next week), and avoiding where possible, trappings
of modernity. It was difficult to choose a single PAW.

With that in mind, the PAW photo this week is of a simple bench, taken on
Neopan Acros with my M4 and the 21 mm Kobalux:

Alternate 1 is of a distressed window in the mission courtyard, taken with a
Minilux Zoom on Fuji Superia 400:

Alternate 2 is of one of the interior walls of the mission, M4/21mm
Kobalux/Neopan Acros: <http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=624497>

Alternate 3 is of the mission cemetery M4/35mm 'cron:

Finally, Alternate 4 is of another distressed window, this time framed by an
arch, also taken with the Minilux Zoom:

The entire folder can be seen at

As before, I'm working off high-quality 4x6 prints made by a local Pro-lab
and scanned on a cheap (as in $10!) 300 dpi/32 bit flatbed scanner with no
software enhancement.

As always, comments are welcome and encouraged. Fire away!

Best,

Ira Silverman
