No, but there is the criminal-law equivalent of laches, BD.  Within the
past ten years, they attempted to prosecute a fellow south of me, here in
what is REALLY God's Country (Western Virginia) for a murder committed in
the 1950's.  His attorney simply asked the judge how in the blazes the
fellow could defend himself, and the charges were dismissed.

Under US law, prosecutions for crimes committed more than a decade past are
often subjected to the same rationale, and dismissed.

Ponder this one, lad!
