Hi Sam,

Almost right.  FLE is "Floating Lense Element" and FE "Focal plane shutter,
Electronic" lenses.  It's the FE lenses that have the electronic contacts
for the new bodies.  An FLE lense can be an FE version (as in the 50FE,
which is an FLE lense).
