Well, I'm not certain a lot of folks on the LUG would agree that a lens only a quarter of a century old was especially "old"! The FLE Distagon offers slight but significant advantages over the older design, but, then, the older design is hardly a slouch, either. It comes down to money and how often you use the system. I do not use my Hasselblad gear all that often, being a Rolleiflex sort of guy, so I'm content with a straight 4/50 Distagon. But, if I used the Hasselblad more, I'd upgrade to a FLE lens.
