I have one of the Metz 20 BC-6's that you mentioned. In fact, it was a purchase from another LUGger. It's nice and compact, but suffers from being short. You will get redeye quite often if your subjects are people. Another option is the Leica SF-20, which is taller and less prone to this problem. Its drawbacks are that it is expensive for such a small unit, and it uses expensive lithium batteries to boot. But once you get over this hurdle, you will like it very much.
