I suspect many people do.  And I bet there's a whole other group of people
who ask, "Do people look at HCB's photos and wonder what kind of camera he
used?  Thought not."

Some of my friends are musicians.  They don't just listen to music.  They
debate about what model and year of guitar gives a better sound.  Sounds
pretty familiar.  :)
