And too much from an image standpoint for the company. It looks bad, feels bad. The Leica M is now battery dependent? Want to invest? When the M6 battery goes out it becomes an M4. No biggy. When the M7 goes out it seems you'd not be Abel to shoot in low light. Or Bright light with fast film. Big biggy. I think there needs to be a Leica M camera on the market with a non battery dependent shutter. And the M7 needs to prove itself. A lot of new M6's will be sold in the next year. But as well as M7's. That's how i see it. The M7 will be called all kinds of bad words. A real faction of people won't buy it. But it might open the M system up to more professional use. When you see a bunch of newsguys, some of them will be using M's. Other than Sal. In lots of peoples eyes the new full flash sync will uncripple the camera. Opening it's use to commercial use. This will increase the prestige of the Leica away from the "quaint." - To a happening in the now system. It will have respect for being usable, viable. Not a relic with extremely limited use. Just about every other week we have some guy come on the the LUG tell us how great the M6 is: for a very specific, defined and narrow use. Real left handed compliments. "A great camera as long as your career doesn't depend on getting the shot" or some such crud. I think Leica is now hoping to dispel some of that. And will.
