Whilst the man is obviously aware that he's being photographed, he's not 'posing', and the natural, slightly quizzical look he's giving you contrasts well with the girl's apparent indifference as she concentrates on her task. Gordon at the kitchen table is another picture I particularly enjoyed this week. Having the camera at or just below his eye level, the light from the left giving beautiful modelling to his face and catch-lights in his eyes, and the perfectly judged plane of focus at this wide aperture, all combine to make this a memorable picture of the young man. The main picture was taken : at a cafe that my wife, Gordon, and I go to every morning. It is just a : picture of the cooks. : : http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/PAW2001/wk2.htm : : The second is a picture of Gordon at the kitchen table. I was probably : shooting at F2 and 1/60th. I tried to wait until Gordon turned his head : and the window light hit his eyes. The kitchen has two windows. One : behind him and the other to his right; the left of the picture. : : http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/PAW2001/wk2alt.htm : : Comments welcome. I will try to get a few more done next week. : : Regards, : : Robert : : : -- : To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
