In all likelihood the 90TE continued to be made in Canada but "final assembly" was done in Germany (probably just put into the box like the R8s were). So all the thin TEs are identical. Naturally coating techniques improved as production went on but this would only produce very minor improvements. I did not like my TE but I have no grudges against those who like theirs. Probably just luckier than I am. John Collier PS: All the focusing mounts were the same as well. They changed the graphics a bit and used a different font at the end but hardly anything one could expect actually improve the performance. > From: "Steve Barbour" <kididdoc@home.com> > > yup...design... but the question is construction, glass, coating, why are > their multiple variants made in several countries , each one diffrerent, > and each one identifiable?......Steve > > >> According to all the guides (Laney, Lager, PVH) the TE lenses are all of > the >> same optical design thanks Mark >> - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
