About five years ago, I missed a bottom step in Francisco Franco's 
undeground chapel, fell on my face, and damaged my FE2 and 28-90 
lens.  I was left for the next two weeks with nothing but a Yashica 
T4 Super, which was wonderful photographic discipline.  I took a lot 
of pictures of floodlit buildings in Madrid at that time.  My 
recollection, with ISO 400 film, was that the P & S picked exposures 
that, from the sound of them, were under one second.  I used a pocket 
tripod and braced it against the nearest wall, tree, or lamp post.
