 From what I know from climbing friends, one can have the lens 
di-oiled, as it is the oil that gums up at low temperatures. Of 
course the leaves take more wear in that case, but if you want 
pictures...
My concern was the electronics and I suspect I'll be hearing some 
comments soon.
