Thats true. Just a simple gesture to say you appreciate another culture goes
a long way. You need to pick a little of the local customs. For instance, in
NY, if you say hello to a shopkeeper it means you are ready to be served. In
France hello and goodbye are simply good manner, under the same the same
circumstances; and I like it and have imported it to apply it to my daily
interactions. As a result I've got lots of very friendly merchants, who will
extend themselves ofr me.
