delirium tremens n.
An acute, sometimes fatal episode of delirium usually caused by withdrawal or
abstinence from alcohol following habitual, excessive drinking. It also may
occur during an episode of heavy alcohol consumption. [New Latin delirium
tremTns : Latin dTlhrium, delirium + Latin tremTns, trembling.]"

The Belgians delight in naming their brews diabolically also. There are beers called
Satan and Lucifer too, probably a few others - often with dramatic label art. The
Quebec-made Belgian knock-offs follow with La Maudite (the Damned), l'Eau Benite
(Holy Water, with a satanic label) and a few others. Canadian cigarette packs now
carry (compulsory) pictures of diseased lungs, gums, and stylized flaccid male sex
organs. It's all truth in advertising, IMHO.
